Why We Built This Site
New York does not place every record in one public database. The Livingston County Sheriff's Records Division holds its own reports and releasable booking material. Courts and clerks maintain charges, dockets, and dispositions. DCJS is the sole source of a fingerprint-supported New York criminal-history record, while OCA offers a separate public court-data search. DOCCS and the New York State Sex Offender Registry answer still different questions. We organize verified contacts, costs, official links, and request steps so readers can choose the proper custodian.
What You Will Find Here
- Record routes: how to find and read Livingston County criminal court case files
- Official checks: the difference between OCA name searches and a personal fingerprint review through DCJS
- Agency contacts: verified ways to reach the Sheriff, courts, and statewide record systems
- Record relief: where New York sealing and correction requests begin
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not part of Livingston County or New York government. That places clear limits on its role:
- We do not retrieve official histories or run government record checks
- We cannot submit FOIL requests, sealing papers, or other forms for a visitor
- We cannot certify a court paper, rap sheet, police report, or registry record
- We do not give legal advice about a charge, warrant, conviction, or sealing issue
- We cannot promise that an office has not changed a fee, hour, address, or procedure
An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the Livingston County Sheriff, the court of origin, or DCJS. We can identify the route, but cannot issue the record.
Search Partners
Outside companies power some search boxes. Each provider controls its service, prices, result matching, and terms. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports site operations. We do not control the provider's charges or results, and no partner result replaces a record from the government office that maintains it.
